Counselling: A confidential space to talk
Counselling offers an opportunity to step away from the demands of everyday life and focus on yourself.
You might be struggling with something that has happened recently, or you may be carrying experiences from much further back.
You may not even be sure where your difficulties come from.
Whatever brings you, we can take the time to explore it together.
I have experience supporting people with:
Neurodiversity
Anxiety and stress
Low mood
Grief and loss
Relationship difficulties
Life changes and transitions
Confidence and self-esteem
Feeling overwhelmed or stuck
Difficult or traumatic experiences
The impact of past experiences on the present
You don't need to fit into a particular category to benefit from counselling.
If something is troubling you, that is enough reason to talk.
How I work
I primarily work from a person-centred approach.
This means that our work is shaped around you, your experiences and what you need from counselling.
I won't judge you, tell you what you should do or assume that I know your experience better than you do.
Instead, I will listen carefully and work alongside you as you explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Where appropriate, I may also draw on psychodynamic ideas to help us understand patterns and relationships that may have developed over time.
The most important thing is that the work is collaborative.
We work together to understand what is happening and what might help.
